Skinny Love…does that seem discriminating?

But in all seriousness I forget how much I like this song, honestly Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” is a little bit off, but off in that wonderful way that begs you to keep listening. I can just see Justin Vernon, Bon Iver’s true solider, holed up in some Wisconsin cabin, decked out in flannel of course, strumming away, creative juices flowing, making sure his cords flow with the nature of the woods (no joke people). Sure Vernon could have used a bassist, but “Skinny Love” never tries to be something it’s not, this song is raw and minimalistic, but it possesses that softness that woes the listener into swaying like those same trees that nurtured each note in the first place. It’s all cyclical right? I am posting the source track from For Emma, Forever Ago but thought it would be worthwhile to post a little redub by Das Kapital. I like them both, but there’s something sexy about that original melodious rant.
