Broken Halo

It’s always good realizing that one of your favorite bands is better than you initially thought. After dealing with a slight volume issue this past Sunday, The Black Keys bounced back and played one of the more rowdy shows of all of Hangout Festival. I forgot how ridiculous their sound is especially considering it’s TWO people, and it was even more surprising how fantastic they were live. The musicality and layering of each of their tunes is a journey in itself, but nothing beats the visual stimulation of a live show.

My absolute favorite song they played was one they played during their encore, the one and only Sinister Kid. When the Keys played this song, I think I actually felt it in my bones…if only dancing in the sand was a little easier. So without further a due here’s both the live version and the album version of Sinister Kid.
