Sometimes words are just noise….*ACL

and sometimes music is the best medicine.

If you haven’t heard of this band then I would advise you to reevaluate where you are getting your music….unless you get it from my blog….and well if that’s the case you’re about to get your education on the XX.

The XX are pretty much indescribable, but alas I am going to try to anyway. They are “mopey, moody, and very, very talented”. There dark, storm like soundscapes redefine what I consider pleasing to the ears. Interview’s Matt Diehl put’s it perfectly, “there’s a sense of lived-in mystery in the way Croft and Sim wend their whispery voices around each other”. These Southern Londoners know how to impress and I consider The XX to be one of the greatest discoveries of 2010. My pick is their instrumental “Intro“, but “Crystalized” and “Islands” are the class favorites, so I am posting all three. Basically you have to hear them to know what all the hype is about, but close your eyes and let these fresh faced musical geniuses transport you……
